Our modern world may be radically different from the world of the psalmists yet as you read the psalms you will discover that the same spiritual difficulties that they faced are faced by us today. In addition to helping believers respond to difficult situations, the psalms provide valuable insights into the character of a covenant God who is committed to blessing and preserving his people as they travel to heaven.Allan Harman doesn't just expound the psalms with simple profundity, he also provides an extensive introduction which looks at the origin and function of the psalms in the religious life of Israel and then details their relevance for Christians today.
