Revelation

Reissued with corrections, this commentary, formerly published in the SCM Pelican series, now joins the TPI New Testament Commentaries. 'Sweet is to be applauded for not only providing a useful commentary but also for trying to face and respond to the real dilemmas that Revelation poses for the modern Christian who wants to know more than background and history, who wants to know how this book might contribute to his/her own life and reflection' (Pheme Perkins in The Catholic Biblical Quarterly). 'Strikes a successful balance between a scholarly interpretation written solely for the expert and a devotional commentation ignorant of biblical scholarship...It is this ability to transpose apocalyptic language into a contemporary framework that recommends the commentary for college teachers and students' (Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza in Horizons).
