Theology in the Service of the Church: Essays in Honor of Thomas W. Gillespie

First-rank scholars explore the role of theology in church life. This volume celebrates and extends a theme central to the work of Princeton Seminary President Thomas W. Gillespie—the nature and role of Christian theology as servant of the church. Twenty-five contributing scholars approach this theme in strikingly original ways, offering diverse and ecumenically minded essays that make both a fitting tribute to Gillespie’s legacy and a substantial contribution to theological inquiry in their own right.
